Platform Guide
Quick reference for every feature on The Theorist — aligned with the live UI (nav, article headers, board).
The top nav (desktop and mobile menu) is the source of truth for labels and URLs.
/ — priority-scored news stream./uap./outbreaks./insider-radar — UAP researchers, whistleblowers, journalists, Congress (see section below)./blog — long-form published reports (not the Oracle engine)./search./guide./account — sign in from the feed first./blog report list and each report at /blog/[slug]./board/[id] — same id as the feed article or generated report. This /guide page keeps a minimal header: only ← FEED (home). Feed article reader /article/[id] and report reader /blog/[slug] use both ← ANALYSIS (to /blog) and ← FEED, plus ◈ BOARD ▶ on the right for /board/[id]. The floating dock uses ◈ OPEN INVESTIGATION BOARD ▶.
Homepage collects articles from Guardian API, Google News, Reddit and FOIA databases. GPT-4o assigns a priority score (0–100). Only articles scoring 70+ are shown in the main stream.
At the top of page 1, the hero card highlights the highest priority score from the last 7 days — not a separate editorial pick. The percentage matches the same AI score used on news cards.
When you open an article, report, or board, the feed remembers your last position (browser storage; synced to your account when signed in). Page 1 shows a resume banner if you have a saved session.
/article/[id]). From there, open the Board; optional per-article live chat appears in the dock only when NEXT_PUBLIC_LIVE_CHAT_ENABLED=true is set on deploy. Live chat requires sign-in.AI marks conspiracy-relevant phrases in the article body. Guests see the top 3 signals; free registered users see 5; PRO / Analyst Pass trial sees all with full notes.
Green = source active recently. Yellow [IDLE] or [DEGRADED] = stale or quiet. Red = error. UAP reflects last full refresh (daily scraper), not only new NUFORC rows. DARPA: ████ is intentionally redacted.
/blog lists published deep-dive reports (stored as generated articles). Each row links to /blog/[slug] for the full read experience.
/board/[id] as the underlying generated article — consistent with the ◈ BOARD ▶ control on the report page.Report pages mirror feed readers: ← ANALYSIS → list, ← FEED → home, BOARD on the right; ↗ REPORT may point to the current slug where the layout provides it.
Interactive graph generated per article or report. The centre node is the story; surrounding nodes are AI-discovered actors, documents, companies and patents.
/board/[newsId]./board/[id]. Back link on the board shows ← REPORT to return to the blog slug. For feed-sourced news, if no cached Oracle JSON exists, the board requests a new analysis after you sign in (subject to plan limits). If a cache hit exists, it loads immediately — guests and free users can read cached runs; triggering fresh runs requires effective PRO (paid or Analyst Pass trial).
On company, person, event, patent, and FOIA nodes (and matching agency keywords), the detail panel can show US federal awards from USASpending.gov — recipient search, awarding agency filter, or keyword mode. Data is paginated (not capped at a handful of rows). No API key required.
The centre article node uses threat-style scoring. Other node types show relevance / involvement labels instead of “threat” where appropriate.
/account → My investigations. Free: up to 5 saved; PRO: unlimited./blog/[slug] page.GPT-4o cross-references the story with the CIA FOIA index, USPTO database and known actors. On the Investigation Board, analysis is loaded automatically when missing (after sign-in). On UAP incident pages, use ◈ RUN ORACLE ANALYSIS ▶ to run explicitly. Results are cached — free users can view existing analyses where access allows; PRO unlocks fresh triggers where gated.
/uap is a dedicated database built from FOIA documents, Pentagon statements and congressional testimony.
/insider-radar reads a cached feed (YouTube RSS + X API) refreshed daily at 09:00 UTC via /api/scheduler/tick or Admin → Automation → Insider Radar feed refresh. Page loads never call X directly.
X_BEARER_TOKEN on Vercel.Coloured chips under the header show which channels returned data and how many items each contributed. If the grid is empty, feeds may be rate-limited — refresh after a few minutes.
Minimal header: ← FEED, same as other tracker pages. Listed in the top nav as INSIDER RADAR (amber).
On /admin, sidebar SEO / GSC: run Search Console sync first, then Search Console SEO Article. Or call GET /api/search-console with CRON_SECRET.
/outbreaks shows real-time alerts from WHO, CDC and ProMED. The nav button blinks red as a live attention signal.
/search searches the article database plus AI enrichment when signed in.
Paste any https:// link into the ◈ ANALYZE URL tab (second tab on /search). Requires sign-in and effective PRO. Supports: X/Twitter, Reddit, Bluesky, YouTube (oEmbed), and standard news sites. Short links (t.co, redd.it) are resolved first.
Curated A–Z list of official declassified portals: CIA Reading Room, FBI Vault, NARA, NSA FOIA, DARPA, etc. Filter by agency or letter. Links open the primary government source — PDFs are not hosted here.
Every Investigation Board has ◈ SHARE ▼ and ☆ SAVE top-right.
/account — profile, Analyst Pass status, billing, saved investigations, and email preferences. Sign in from the feed header first.
Lists boards you saved with ☆ SAVE. Links back to the board and source article where available.
The first 100 new accounts receive a 90-day Analyst Pass and a founding badge on Account. After that, new signups get the standard 30-day trial automatically.
